Joachim Mathes is Chief Technology Officer of Valeo Comfort and Driving Assistance Systems. Mathes studied electrical engineering at Stuttgart Cooperative State University, specializing in automation technology. He joined SWF/ITT in 1989 as a development engineer in the field of sensor technology and took on various project management tasks with international customers. After the takeover by Valeo in 1998, he was appointed Head of Development for switches and detection systems. In this role, he established a global development network, expanded the portfolio through various partnerships and positioned Valeo as an ADAS system provider. Since July 2019, as CTO, he has been responsible for activities in the field of Automated and Connected Vehicles, User Experience and Digital Services.
