Julian’s career began in the Automotive sector, beginning in the highest level of Australian Motorsport, and joining General Motors Holden in 1995. During his 19 years at GM, he held a number of senior roles including several executive positions at GM global HQ, Detroit, Michigan, USA.

Julian took on two international executive placements at GM HQ in Detroit; Director of Advanced Concept Portfolio Planning and Director of Innovation. GM was looking for a fresh approach, knowing markets were consolidating and new opportunities needed to be conceived, including engagements led with Google and Polaris.

Julian was head hunted in 2014 to be Chief Operating Officer for a Silicon Valley Start-up called MetroBee, providing ride sharing in cities.

He then co-founded an Australian Start-up called Applied Electric Vehicles Ltd. “Applied EV”, of which he is CEO.

Applied EV has designed, engineered, and manufactured core software and electronics technology for Autonomous Electric Vehicles, and the vehicles themselves for over 8 years, headquartered in Australia with offices in Hungary and the U.K.
